I would be interested in plant and fruit photos. The description reads very interesting. Is there more info on the hybrid Khet? Is this in the West in any collection? Website of the Khet

Hello Mikkel, in short a cross use between c.grandis and c.unshiu from Russia. The Khet is a "further development" of the hybrid Gulripschski but with more flavor and a higher cold hardiness. More Infos of the parents or the sort itself are rare.

"Is this in the West in any collection?" '
If our planet is a sphere How is it possible to have a west side or east side. It is obvious that north and south are definable but land down under is not since space is 4 dimensional and volume is 3 dimensional.

For me Russia is in the east and I live west of it. I could have also written European or American collection, these are meant here.

Wait for Ilya. I have Gulripshsky, but it has not fruited yet, just flowered once last spring. It seems that Khetsky is its open poĺlinated seedling. As far as I know it is absent in citrus collections in Russia.

As far as I know it is absent in citrus collections in Russia. I find that really exciting. Maybe you'll be lucky this year and it will bloom again. How vigorous is it? Do you think the variety is lost? Or do you just not know if it is grown commercially somewhere in Russia?

Gulripshsky is an extremely strong grower.
The problem with Khetsky was that it was isolated in Abkhasia, the region that was badly damaged during Georgian civil war. It is absent in official citrus collection in Sotchi,Russia.

Very sad and a tragedy.
Is gulripshski therefore a little zygotic when the second generation (e.g. Khet) can have other characteristics? I ask because that would make them even more interesting. I like strong growing varieties.
