oh that's very interesting.. does that mean its like a 10-11 year project? to make a hybrid?

It could be, depends on the actual parents you cross. Calamondin or West Indian Lime as a parent could shorten the time.
Also it can depend on your climate, and how fast you can get the X seedling to grow to fruiting size.
