What type of light is that? I've been looking for a good cheap light general set up: what is the bulb they're using in the video if you know? - If you like this you might be interested in the spacebucket: spacebuckets.com/materialsspacebuckets.com/Its a container + light that was perfected by the uh "herbal" community lol. I'm thinking of making one for baby plants to overwinter in.

Thanks for the link. I have been making light buckets from 5 gallon white paint and drywall mud buckets. The electrical boxes and light fixtures are all scraps. I provide wire nuts and standard daylight 13 and 23 watt CFL bulbs when on sale, which are now getting replaced with LEDs as the CFLs burn out. I started about 9 years ago. I have since made three 35 gallon trash can light enclosures and finally that shown in the video this year. 9 years ago I constructed a 4 foot by 4 foot by 8 foot plywood scraps 2 story light box that I grew beets in the dirt basement floor under lights with my citrus trees growing in the second floor heated by the lights over the beets. I can't post pictures here any more.

I have no background with electricity (and in general can be kind of bad at understanding the basics of it) so I'll probably just get a desk lamp and some CFLs as you said. I do feel hesitancy about them as I think they have mercury as a hazard if they break. - You may also like this masterpost link on plant lighting (LED focused however): www.reddit.com/r/HandsOnComplexity/comments/17nxhd/sags_plant_lighting_guide_linked_together/According to this you can also use aluminum foil as a reflector for light efficiency.
