I have a potted bergamot on flying dragon. From what I’ve researched, they bloom from November to January. However, I read a recipe for bergamot marmalade from a lady in France who said the fruit is harvested in winter. What is the bloom and harvest cycle for bergamot in the southeastern USA? Would it be the same for Seville sour orange which is also a citrus aurantium?

Bergamot fruits from Italy are available here in France starting from November. My potted plant is blooming in April, with fruits ripen around Christmas.

My potted bergamot is putting out flower buds now, indoors for winter but had been outside up until the past few weeks being hauled in and out to avoid freezes. I am guessing it’s blooming now because it received enough chill hours already and thinks it’s spring inside the house. My potted Seville orange, St. Teresa lemon, and yuzu are not blooming and are also indoors. All are grafted. Thoughts?
