The Fast Flowering Poncirus tree that I got from Laaz has set its first fruit. This is the first citrus fruit I have ever seen that has a rather heavy fuzzy peel, and I have been growing citrus 30 years. Very different.. The frit is now just a little smaller than a golf ball.

Mine have blooms now. No fruit set...which is OK. Will wait to see what happens in Spring.

I’ve never acquired seed of this poncirus. Is it a decent rootstock?

I have only acquired this poncirus as of late.....therefore I have not used it as a rootstock and have not enough experience with it to have an opinion. Perhaps someone else has

I’m trying to acquire varieties that are worthy of being in a protection program. Usually only two varieties per year from individuals are accepted. Someone from the Florida program is interested in a few varieties that I have but I’m not sure what they’ll have an interest in and room for.

Hershel, my tree and Laaz's tree both have a rather spindly growth pattern. I have never seen a grown tree, so I can't say whether it will have any value as a root stock. Actually at this time, I don't know if there is a large fast flowering Poncirus tree. Laaz might know, he got his seed from somewhere.

I’ve never acquired seed of this poncirus. Is it a decent rootstock? It is a dwarf. My tree is 15 years old and just barely over my 6 ft fence. All seedlings begin to flower @ 1 year old from seed.
