Ok! You made half of the way: find the right image address. Now you must go the rest of the way: use the IMG tags.

<img src="http://www.homecitrusgrowers.co.uk/citrusplaces/images/mdqpjt0dhq.jpg"> I believe the issue you're having is that homecitrusgrowers doesn't allow https. I can't use images from your site any more than you can. But using a different site to host the images works fine

Hornad - Yes, you're probably correct - thanks! The company that hosts my website charges more for https: sites. As the site is entirely non-commercial and carries no financial transactions, no-one has convinced me there is any advantage in paying the extra! However, it is a bit strange that basic http: websites don't work when displaying images on this forum. There are still plenty of these sites around and it isn't mentioned anywhere as far as I can see.

I found the information on the Prpboards forum: see support.proboards.com/thread/660963/help-images-displaying-on-forumProBoards' forums are transitioning to HTTPS instead of HTTP. While this should not affect the majority of the forums, there may be a small few where images now appear 'broken' and not show. You can read more about it here: ProBoards Transitioning to HTTPS If you are experiencing this issue of images not appearing, then this means the site hosting your images does not support HTTPS.
