Hey, so for the last several months I've noticed that the leaves and some of the younger branches on my finger lime have begun to dry out. I'm not really sure what the problem is, I don't think it's overwatering because I've had this plant for 3 years and I'm pretty careful, but I'm open to the fact that maybe I've been less careful as of late, also the pH seems to be in a safe range. Any help/knowledge would be really appreciated! I really don't want this guy to die! I think I properly linked the images through the website but just in case here's another link: imgur.com/a/yW1WgLx

My guess this is a severe phytophthora damage, look at the roots, they probably mostly dead.

Damn, you were right. Looked at the roots, they were mostly dead. There might be a few that have some life left in them so I cut everything back and soaked the roots in a hydrogen peroxide solution. Just repotted into a small pot with extremely well draining soil. Some of the pieces I cut off do look somewhat healthy, with a few (I think) viable leaves. Going to see if I can potentially root those, but I'm not optimistic.
I do have a meiwa kumquat that's grafted that's doing great, unfortunately my finger lime was not, so for my consciousness I'll blame it on that. I guess with school ramping up this last year I wasn't as careful as I should've been. Anyways thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

My guess this is a severe phytophthora damage, look at the roots, they probably mostly dead. That is certainly a possibility. Otherwise it looks like what happens if I miss watering one of my potted Fingerlimes on a hot day. I would check the pot mix to see how wet it really is. It should get heavier after watering if it retaining water. Another strong possibility is over fertilising. They don't seem to like strong NPK type fertilisers as much as other Citrus. Use less fertiliser more often. Lower strength liquid fertilisers, more regularly . The strong fertilisers behave like high salinity in the pot mix, so the symptoms fit. That also causes root burn damage, leading to fungal infection so one can follow the other. They also do seem to get fungal dieback of twigs and leaves at times, that is another possibility.
