A favorite potted plant recently died after many years and I've been trying to get a replacement. No luck so far! It is a very distant citrus relative, Thamnosa montana, from southern USA desert regions. The only source of seeds I can find is the Mojave Desert Land Trust - they have one packet of seed available! See www.mdlt.org/product/thamnosma-montana-seeds/Trouble is they will only ship to the US states CA, AZ, NV, UT. Is there anyone living in one of those states who would be willing to accept and mail seed on to me in UK? All costs refunded by PAYPAL and sending these seeds to UK address is permitted. If you can help please message me on this forum. Thanks, Mike/Citrange

That is a dangerous move Mike, I am just on the edge of Arid inland Australia, always interested in arid land plants. Previously I was a member of Native Seeds / Search that recollected and preserved the traditional crop varieties of the South West USA and Northern Mexico, and also Plants of The South West seed co . You say there is only one packet left, interesting I have not heard of that plant. Are you aware of shipping services if all else fails. I use Shipito to Australia for purchases where the seller won't ship outside USA. www.shipito.com/en/buy-from-US-ship-to-UKIf the exchange rate is good and the item on sale It can be well worth it, if not, not so cheap but ok for a one off. I see that the seed co you want to buy from has $1.50 flat rate shipping, that is low, and will make a big difference. You will only have to pay (Shipito etc) for the USA to UK Shipping not double shipping for the within USA post to your USA mailbox. I hope someone on either Forum can help.

I had considered a mailing service but, as you suggest, they can be expensive and I hadn't realised you could specify the US state of the mailing warehouse. You can in fact do that with your Shipito - they have a California facility. So I might try them. Not quite sure why you think it is 'a dangerous move'??

Well, I might be tempted to grab that last packet of seed, they sound very interesting and the kind of desert plant seed I purchased in the past.

Luckily it turns out it was a kind member of this forum living in California who bought the last packet for me! Now arranging onward delivery to UK.

Unfortunately the member who bought this last packet of seeds doesn't seem to have mailed them on to me. Certainly they never arrived. Perhaps it was too expensive, too much hassle or perhaps he kept them for himself! Anyway, still looking for seeds of the desert plant Thamnosma montana, Turpentine Broom.
