Has it ever been tried to cross Choisya and Citrus?

Choisya on the phylogenetic tree from citrus stands even further than muraya. The set of chromosomes is three times larger than that of citrus fruits. It is unlikely to cross them.

I suspected as much. My intention was more to ask if it was even tried. Even failure would be news. Here is an article about a tomato/goji berry hybrid. This is equally unlikely, I guess.
