I am growing 4 Meiwa kumquats and 1 Fukushu kumquat tree from seed. I have found that kumquats are hard to graft and that most nursery's graft to the easiest rootstock, not a compatible rootstock. The results are poor growth and / or death. All 5 of my kumquat seedlings out perform my grafted kumquats by far. I would like to hear what you have learned and why you are growing from seed as well as what varieties you have. Attachments:

Coming out of the greenhouse. Each section of glass is removed to expose the tree to more direct sunlight. Attachments:

I have been for many years and am now. Have two two year old Meiwa that are bearing a starter crop as we speak.
