as you maybe know i planted some 20 lime trees 2 years ago. I picked first fruits last weekend. Very happy with their apareance and the taste of fruits and most important with the fact they dont need to turn yelow to pick them so nobody is goint to steal the fruits.
i also noticed something alarming. the bark of the trees split just above and below the point where the main trunk and branch meet. It does not seem to be to much of the problem but it got me worried because it happened to every lime tree. I do not know why did it happen. It does not look at first like frost damage, but maybe it is? Unfortunately did not take photos of damage.

> It does not look at first like frost damage. It cannot be at this time of the year and with the warm weather we have in Europe.
For a cold split you need a very hard cold followed by sunny days. You can recognise it, they are on the south side.

i think so too. the winter wAS also mild. Maybe it is nonesens but the way the bark splits, looks to me like the branches grow faster than the main trunk what opens up those holes in the bark.
