Is there a site (Url) that gives you the ins and outs on cross pollinating. I would love to learn the proper way to do it. Since I have no honey bees I have been doing hand pollinating for many years, but I know to ensure proper cross pollination there must be some does and don'ts.

I do not know of a web site but: Heres what I do. You have to have flowers that open near the same time. Imperative that you are the first to transfer pollen. I put on a net nag several days before bloom opens. I use wifes camel hair eyebrow brush to transfer pollen. When finished, put a sturdy brown paper bag over newly polinated bag. Tight around the branch. Make sure no bees, bugs or ants can get to the bloom. As soon as fruit is evident you can remove covering. I know that this is a bare bones explanation.....its the way I was taught and it works. When your seed are mature you can follow up with what you wat to do. It is a time consuming project but the surprise is worth it.

Most citrus varieties do not need pollination for fruiting.
Sometime, like for clementines it is even better to avoid it to diminish the seed number.

Agreed. I think Cindy wants to cross polinate in order to back cross to come up with something new. Unless I misunderstood.....that is possible

Speaking of Geogia. I had a friend that came from around Valdosta. Her father passed away and she got his citrus business. Moved all his container trees and stock to Holden LA. Held grafting classes at her place several times. Lost contact with her. Sound familar to anyone?

A red Fautrime would be nice... I'm working on it. I pollinated four Eustis flowers last weekend with red fingerlime pollen. I'll do a few more this weekend.
I've been trying to cross everything I've got with green and red Fingerlime pollen.
So far this year I've pollinated Meiwa Kumquat, Fukushu Kumquat, Ugly fruit, kaffir lime, NZ Lemonade lemon, Meyer Lemon, Palestine Lime, Miho Satsuma, and Moro Blood Orange. Last year, I posted about the green finger lime x yuzu cross I made, and have two plants that look like finger limes.

I would love to cross Armstrong satsuma with Toracco blood. I am getting a visual of what it looks like and what it would taste like. I crossed a ton of stuff many years ago....but they now have so much new stuff to work with....just about anything is possible
