I have put my citrus trees outside for solar acclimation 2.5 months before last USDA spring frost date. The sun is low in the sky and UV burning is at a minimum. When the temperature is warm enough they can go outside in full light.

Steve, I can’t imagine how cold it was where you are, -it hit in the low 20’s (*F) here in Atlanta. I checked the heater in the greenhouse like 3 times last night lol.

They're beautiful.
Do you find five-gallon buckets adequate for your trees? I'm hoping to dwarf all of mine, but I'm wondering what the best way to container them will be.

The 5 gallon buckets are to small to expect more than a handful of fruit. The bucket handles are the big advantage. For kumquats I think 10 gallons would be the smallest pot I would use.
