I used a Poncirus Trifoliata interstock to bridge between the Seville sour orange rootstock and the Fukushu kumquat scion by T-bud for both grafts 1 year apart. youtu.be/a2O3fmBcTYk

Interesting rootstock combination. However, for a container tree, would not the trees growth be the very same if it was just grafted on a poncirus without the sour orange under stock?

Seville sour orange is known to push the most sugars into the fruit of its grafted scions. Sour orange also handles the harshest soil problems that can arise in potted trees. This should push for sweeter Fukushu kumquats with less nutrient deficiency problems. I do have a couple of Fukushu trees on flying dragon roots. We will see when they start fruiting.

The growth of these shoots has stopped and the leaves are full size. I will cease to feed it till spring when I can start taking it outside for sun and acclimation.
