Hello, First time poster and definitely not a newbie. This past winter I planted a lime tree in my office. I had a GE flowering spectrum light above it and had it set to a timer 12 on 12 off. It looked like it was doing very well...full of flowers lots of leaves and fruit right away. I recently moved and placed the tree near a window. I still had the grow light on it but it was mounted further away on a ceiling fan. Since it was in the fan I no longer had the timer running. For the last two months things have been going down hill. Almost all the leaves have dropped and tree is starting to brown. The weekends have been less consistent with light due to travel but I thought being by the window would help. I recently moved it outside to see if that helps. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. gyazo.com/b85be6bc116257f14305959c1b86a9adgyazo.com/2aeaf91398a3143b8fa8f65936ea0b81

Is the medium that the tree is planted in still rapid draining. How long does the medium stay wet after watering? Is the medium compact or compressed?

Hello, no it has not rapidly been draining, I just jiggled it around and it started draining. I've noticed the potting soil would stay damp, but the area with the roots would be dry. Before I put it in the pot it would get dryer much faster. The soil looks slightly compact.

Certainly looks like it is time (actually past time) to repot the tree with new medium. Try to remove as much of the old medium without damaging the root system. Soaking the root ball in a pail of water should make it easier to remove the old medium. Replace with a fast draining medium.

I use the 5-1-1 (5 parts bine bark, 1 part peat moss and 1 part perlite). Laaz uses one that I believe is a 1:1 Turface and peat.
