What are these weird branches growing on my mandarin tree ?

These are deffinately not the same as the rest of the branches on my tree I just don't know what they are

I don't see any pictures, but I assume you are seeing rootstock suckers. Does your tree have a scar a few inches above the ground on the main trunk? It is likely a grafted tree, and any growth from below the graft line scar is rootstock (junk, as far as you are concerned) and should be removed.
