Good afternoon everybody,
I am Filippo from Italy, and this is my first message on this forum, just to introduce myself.
I live in northern Italy (sesto calende) but I grew up in south of Italy, in the city of Lecce.
I am definitely in love with citrus and I am here to learn new knowledges from all over the world.
Unfortunately at the moment I don’t have space enough for all the plants I have in mind, but I have a bit of them (lemons, mandarins, orange Moro, calano fine, kumquat, yuzu, papeda, bergamot etc all in pots).
As I believe my life will be in northern Italy, I am focused on quite hardy varieties to plant them on ground a day.
I hope to share many interesting informations and pictures with you.
Thank you Filippo

Benvenuto Filippo! Perhaps you know it already but you should visit Eisenhut nursery in Piazzogna/Gambarogno (Ticino). It is not far from you. They have a vast selection of coldhardy and other Citrus. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your plants and garden.

Welcome Filippo. Did your family grow citrus in Lecce? I guess Lecce climate is citrus friendly

Thank you Florian. I don’t know it but I’ll visit it for sure.
The climate in Lecce is quite good, the medium minimum temperature in January is 7 Celsius and 15 as maximum. It can frost sometimes when there is wind from east as it arrives directly from the Balcans.
My family does not grow citrus for job but we have many citrus. In particular we have 70 years old oranges. Maybe They are not as tasty as the orange we can find now but I believe we have to respect their age and story.
Thank you all for the greeting!
Filippo

Hi Filippo, this is Greg O'Neill, I'm also a newbie here, moving to Southern Oregon, USA, shortly to establish my White Tiger Farms. I recently found the giant lemons being grown in the Amalfi Coast area, and would love to find sources for seeds from those, do you know any growers who might be willing to part with seeds? I'm also on the hunt for seeds of the Ky Da giant pomelos grown in Na Hang District, Tuyen Quang Province in Vietnam, with fruit to 10 kg in weight, they are amazing fruit, bigger than Ponderosa Lemon, you might be interested in those, and if you go to ebay.com you can find vendors who sell seeds of those giant lemons.
