You prefer amoa8 over moro, tarocco, sanguinelli?

Amoa8 sweeter than Moro - tangerine taste + berry aftertaste

Does Tacle actually turn red? The pictures on the Tintori web site only show "ordinary" orange fruits... Tintori TacleThe problem of space is solved by a 5-in-1 garden tree. In terms of taste and sugar: Amoa8, Moro, Tarocco, Sanguinelli. There are many more red citrus varieties. I have more than 30 of them

But then again, often Tarocco aren't very red either.

The Tacle I can buy in stores here are never red. But then again, often Tarocco aren't very red either. How are they taste-wise? I am really bad at describing flavours. They are sweet, clementine-like but also with orange taste. What one would expect from a orange x clementine. I have just read that "Red Tacle" is not the same as Tacle but a mutation that emerged in 1994 with redder fruit.

I like blood citruses very much, tasted many of them and to my opinion their unique flavour is not directly related to the degree of coloration. Some very faintly colored Tarocco varieties have the best taste. Fragola orange fruits are only lightly tainted but the raspberry-like smell is very strong.
AMOA8 has wonderfully colored juice to such extent that you stain everything around you with it, they are pleasant to eat, but the smell is not very strong.
I read somewhere that this unique perfume is a result of the formation of complex compounds from colored anthocyanins, their precursors, sugars and acids that are not always present in right proportions.

My recent observation concurs: I bought some Tarocco oranges from Italy last Saturday and they are among the very best despite being nearly "bloodless".

I have just found some Tacle in our local grocery store. Completely unpigmented but excellent taste. Looks like a giant mandarin (250g/300g) but tastes very orangey.

Maybe they can be found in particular stores... the ortanique tangor for instance also is available nowhere except for one particular chain of stores. Too bad because I love the ortanique...
