Does anyone know where I can buy a grafted loquat that will ship to Ireland. I can only find ones grown from seed and I want a grafted one. I know that their common in Spain but I can't seem to be able to get ones that ship to Ireland. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know ig the varieties sold in Spain are good for your climate, the commercial production area is Alicante, a very different climate from Ireland. In the nurseries they usually sell tanaka, algerie and golden nugget, in some they also sell a local variety called peluche. There are other very good local varieties but they are more difficult to buy. Shipments from Spain are very expensive, so most nurseries do not handle international shipments, and others have to be asked specifically. Try this, send them an email www.hernandorena.com/nispero-algerie-en-maceta-c-17/If you have problems with communication or the shipment is too expensive and want to ask in another nursery, I could help you.

Ok thank you. I was hoping to grow it in a greenhouse. Loquats are a common plant in England but they only fruit about once every 10 years if planted in the best conditions and are are only grown as ornamental plants and are only sold as seedling not grafted plants.
I lived in the South of Spain for a while and I miss loquats. They are impossible to buy in Ireland. I think I could get them to fruit in a greenhouse

They said they don't have any and when I looked through the site I couldn't see any listed I think the link you sent me was out of date it said it was from 2018. Or maybe I just took too long to contact them

The only place I've found that will send one to me is www.canarius.com/en/plants/eriobotrya-japonica-peluche-.html and it's extremely expensive site and they have a minimum order of €150 plus postage so I'll probably end up having to spend €200 but I'll get a few different types fruit plants so if I can't find anything else I'll buy from them.

There are many French nurseries that are selling it. Make a search with "neflier du japon achat"

I will ask for you in some spanish nurseries, maybe we can found something better.

Vivergil has some (at least Tanaka) and ships for reasonable prices.

I am looking for the variety Piera. Anyone know a nursery? Piera flowers continuously, so it might be better suited for cold winters, in case the autumn flowers freeze, there will be another spring flowering and hopefully fruits

I'd love to get one of them since I'm unsure if I can even get them to fruit in a greenhouse in Ireland. I don't think it's been tried. But at the moment I'm just struggling to find somewhere that will ship a grafted plant to Ireland

Any idea how to get this one out of IVIA? I know 2 people who asked for it... no chance. So far I found no nursery.

Vivergil has some (at least Tanaka) and ships for reasonable prices. They don't ship to Ireland. But I'm seriously tempted by some of their huge citrus trees so I might have to hire a courier to ship a pallet. I don't have the money at the moment or the room for a huge citrus tree. But maybe in the next year or two. I'm not in any rush to buy a Loquat. And it's definitely a better option than the other site I was looking at.
