This year I got a first fruit of Kiyomi (Myiagawa satsuma X Trovita orange). The plant was on citrumelo rootstock, this fruit was easily detached at the end of December.
It is rather seedy, probably due to the cross pollination, since Kiyomi flowers lack pollen and are autosterile.
Very pleasant ratio of sugar/acid and a unique blend of satsuma and sweet orange taste. 12°Brix at that moment. Kiyomi is one of the parents of Dekopon.

Ilya11, get your radiation machine out and irradiate the fruit to develop a seedless cultivar. 26 seeds is a lot of seeds.

Millet, it is because of open pollination with other varieties, Kiyomi when isolated is completely seedless.
All these 26 seeds are hybrid, that is actually why I got Kiyomi, it is an excellent mother plant.

Kiyomi acts like Clementine, in that both Clementine and Kiyomi are seedless when grown in isolation. ILya11, I can see that Kiyomi would make a good mother plant.

Yes, kiyomi is used as parent in japan breeding very often. It is also a mother of great Hime koharu 媛小春 (kiyomi x citrus flaviculpus).

Radoslav, Why do you think that Hime koharu is special? Does its albedo edible like that of ogonkan?

Ehime prefecture citrus breeders considere Hime Koharu as flag ship of their breedings. It is seedless, good taste, easy to peel, with thin skin.

Finally someone talking about the kiyomi lol it’s my favourite tree but unlike yours mine is seedless! It’s very very juicy and the best sweet to acid ratio but mine don’t get almost as big as yours. Nice!

Im wanting to get my Kiyomi to be seedless. Does it produce seeds when crosse polinated with any cirtus, or just certain ones? I do have the option to have a couple of satsuma mandarins on each side of it. Would that work? All satsuma are seedless and generally don't make other citrus have seeds, so I hear.

Yes, satsuma flowers rarely have viable pollen, so your Kyomi will be entirely seedless
