I have a box of clementines from the market and noticed that some of them contain seeds. I might want to try to germinate them. Do they grow true from seed?

Standard Clementine is also self-incompatible, which means they are seedless unless pollinated by a different cultivar, in which case all seedlings are hybrids. The Monreal Clementine clone is self fertile and when self pollinated the genetics are all from the Clementine parent, but will segregate due to Clementine's genetic heterozygosity.

Are your clementines actually clementines? Or some kind of mandarin like murcott? Not sure if that changes the answer though

Almost all sweet oranges, true grapefruit, lemons, limes, pure mandarins (other than King and clementine) most tangelos, hybrid tangerines and tangors (except Temple) come true from seed. Most pummelos do not come true from seed

I don't have the box in which they came anymore. Normally the labels on the boxes indicate the exact species of citrus they contain. I will check again next time at the market...

Clems do not come true. You may or may not get something but it will mot be a clemule.
