I have convinced myself that this is Cleopatra Mandrin. How it got to Louisiana 30 years ago I have not a clue. Property owner says it was there shen he bought the place in 1987.....

I agree. Do not see them on this tree.😐 Tree really is not something that I have dealt with before.

Still know not what I have. Out of 31 fruits these are the seed I got. Seedless for all practical purposes. As sweet as most satsumas...no off taste at all. Easy to peel. Yellow inside. inside.... very juicy fruit...this is the size

It is some type of a mandarin. The fruit is flattened on the top and bottom, and the peel is very thin. What type of mandarin it is I don't know, but it is a mandarin.

From the fruit you sent me, I say Kishu. Not fully ripe yet, but still very sweet. One fruit had zero seeds & the other had 8 seeds. Very easy to peel.

Hi David: did you just pick them? I read that Kishu's are late winter producers. Perhaps a Xie Shan X Kishu Var? I seem to remember Xie Shan satsuma has a green peel, and is super early.

Yes I just picked them. The tree still has lots of green fruit on it but....they are ripe for all practical purposes. Very sweet and easy to peel. Tree is huge and old. Shape and stats of the fruit lead me to Kishu.
