The Poncirus in containers are fairly uniformly losing their green coloration in my area. Soil grown plants are almost completely green at this point.
The containerized plants are in a very fast draining soil mix, nutrients likely leach out quickly. The soil grown plants were and remain a deeper green color. The containerized trees were considerably lighter in color during the last several months.
I suspect lower chlorophyll levels speed up the Autumn change in leaf color.
Another factor may be the cooler soil temperatures in the containers. Not having any real connectivity with deep, warm soil, especially at night may also be a factor in the color change

Some of my PTxIchangensis_IVIA358 hybrids are also becoming yellow.
Was poncirus the seed parent ?, did you tried reciprocal cross with Ichangensis as seed parent? I am curiouss because N1 Tri Voss... I was thought that genes for Papeda like leaves are dominant with crosses even with trifoliata, but your hybrids looks like trifoliata type leaves are 100% dominant.. It looks like another proof that N1 Tri Voss is really not c.ichangensis x trifoliata or is there possibility if the Ichangensis is seed parent, hybrids will have more papeda like leaves...

It were SwampLemon PT flowers castrated and pollinated by IVIA. Amazingly, more than a half of seedlings were hybrid as judged by elongated middle leaflet and petioles. The seedlings are rather small now, so they may change to intermediate or monofoliate type.
I agree with you, N1tri looks more like F2 hybrid, also N2tri ("Neuzüchtung" of B.Voss site ) grafted on poncirus was initially trifoliate, but now has changed to entire monofoliate.

I agree with Marcin, it looks like FD and its hybrids have more red autumn colour than common Poncirus, even FD seedlings with straight thorns and branches have still dark red colour: Dragon Lime F1
All my poncirus plants have only yellow or orange color with only one exception: Fast Flowering PT has also more red colour than common PT

Kumin, I also observe that the leaves low in chlorophyll are the first to drop off the plant. The soil in my garden is alkaline, so each year I'm fighting with chlorosis on my Poncirus. The deficient leaves change color and drop faster than the dark green ones.
Ilya, B. Voss lists "Neuzüchtung" as deciduous (Laubabwerfende). Is it also deciduous in your area? Has it fruited?
Jibro, thanks for sharing the photos. They clearly show the differences.

I unintentionally damaged one branch on my Trifoliate seedling with a Brush Cutter in Summer. I observed different autumn coloration on this seedling: on the damaged branch was red-orange, on the rest of the plant yellow as usual. I think the orange - Red color on Flying Dragon may be also due to genetically limited distribution between roots and branches??

Could be also stress reaction. Synthesis of anthocyanins is described as a protection mechanism against many types of environnemental stress.

Yesterday I saw the mother plant of N2tri it was shedding its leaves, some coloration but not much. The leaves are a mix of mono and trioliate ones.
