A friend sent me a bunch of volk seed recently. I'm going to use the majority for rootstock for my lemons, but will try a few in my landscape here. Anyone growing these as a ornamental?

I am not growing any Volk lemon as an ornamental tree but our Meyer grove on Volk rootstock is showing great performance. I attached 2 photos.

I grow volkamer lemon in my greenhouse, it is vigorous plant, 2,5m high fruiting seedling, but I do not consider it as ornamental. There are other citruses, which habitus I consider more ornamental, like taichang lemon etc.

Thanks Rad. The reason I want to keep one as ornamental is to have a supply of seed for rootstock.

Volk is a great rootstock for lemons. grows well in any soil. I used the volk as an additional rootstock to restore the health of a large lemon tree. It works well

I have a variegated Volkamer in a container. It could be a nice ornamental (I Keep it as small as possible)

Volk does make a good rootstock, but I would not particularly grow a Volk in a container as a tree, as I don't like the taste of the fruit.

I will not graft MLemon to anything....grow it, but on its own roots....not a real good lemon IMHO. Eureka is better and begs for Volk rootstock.
