I think I solved the mystery. Here is an extract of Alias' collection: - Citrus junos yuzu n°1 R-18°c maturité:OCT-NOV qualité: XXXXX - Citrus junos yuzu n°2 R-18°c maturité:OCT-NOV qualité: XXXXX - Citrus junos yuzu n°3 R-18°c maturité:OCT-NOV qualité: XXXXX - Citrus junos yuzu n°4 R-18°c maturité:OCT-NOV qualité: XXXXX - Citrus junos yuzu n°5 SB 13 sans épine R-15°c maturité:OCT-NOV qualité: - Citrus junos yuzu de tintori R-12°c maturité: qualité: XXXX - Citrus junos yuzu de corse R-12°c maturité: qualité: XXXXX - Citrus junos yuzu des usa R-15°c maturité: qualité: XX
"des usa" means "from USA".
XXXXX means "excellent". and XX means "not good". The yuzu you propagate in USA is not the right one. Sorry for you.

The problem is UC Riverside controls most all citrus brought into the USA... Unless you get seeds from a outside source & grow them out it is impossible to get new varieties. citrusvariety.ucr.edu/citrus/yuzu1.html

Hello, citrus guys. I have Hana yuzu by Ilya, I'm thankful. I consider the taste of the fruits is a pleasant lemon substitute. My wife that is not a citrus cholic says the same. Only the amount of seed is an odd. The juice is enough.

Ilya. these fruits look very nice. Seeds are quite different from them I have collected from my fruits. What did you pay for two fruits?

Okay, I am on the right way going to produce Yuzu in Vienna! The tiny seeds on the right might contain triploid Embryos? Did I get right what you wrote above referring to seedless Yuzu?

Oscar Tintori also has a variety that goes by the name "European yuzu" and is a cross between ichang papeda and rangpur lime, see link. I wonder how it would fit in the taste comparison...

No relation with true yuzu.

No relation with true yuzu. I understand, but there may be similarities 🙂
