Perhaps, as you say, a soloution for commercial production. Deep pockets will be required. Home growers will not be able.

I sometimes feel that the research is going in the wrong direction. I am certian that folks that can eradicate malaria, polio, yellow fever and a host of other maladies can find a way to destroy hlb. Is the goal to find a way to live with hlb? I think not. The goal should be to eradicate hlb from the face of the earth. Screen houses will not do that. If you follow the money.....there are lots of folks that are getting wealthy from hlb research...filling their pockets with dollars donated by growers, consumers and foundations. How long will this go on? Will screen houses eventually starve hlb out of existence? Again I think not. Like all pest/disease they adapt and mutate to survive. Acp will just find another way to do their thing. As with all situations, the end user will pay the bill. Ccpp is ripe with funds right now from selling budwood. I can only hope that these dollars will be diverted from the pockets of the greedy and to genuine efforts to secure destruction of hlb.

My crystal ball looks a lot different, citrus industry will shift to the north, zone 6, giant greenhouses, why because those bugs don’t
survive in the winter .

That is a different perspective. It is possible. Will acp find a way to survive zone 6 winter? Will giant greenhouses ever reach production levels to feed the retail demand. Will the cost to produce good citrus make it out of reach to the general public? I opine that any soloution is better than none. I would not dislike a shift to greenhouse production only but it leaves the home citrus grower and a hobbiest out in the cold....in more ways than one. Cold hardy citrus has been a goal of breeders/hobby growers for many decades....will it ever come to fruition? I think positive thoughts on your perspective and laud your positive outlook. Let us all look to good things to happen.

Giant greenhouses will be subsidized by the government through tax credits. Where money is to be made, businesses found a way. Orange juice is a way of life.

You would have to believe that genetics would solve the problem quickly (maybe has) but from a marketing perspective they can't go GMO either internal or export certainly not the EU.

a plant growth hormone called Brassinolide to combat the HLB i found it in one of the papers i read on this . They discovered it in Cuba, I have used it knocked back the greening i dont know if it cures it because i treat them every month. It also causes amazing growth on my mango trees. I also use another one i read about in the testing on HLB its called zincicide (not available yet) i learned how to make the nano particle zinc from one of these papers. the nano particles have to be smaller than 5.4 NM to penetrate the citrus leaves by dissolving zinc oxide in hydrochloric acid this can be achieved . i now apply both to my citrus trees they have never been healthier.
