My old Sungold lemon. I really need to source this one again. Much better than the variegated pink lemon...

The names “sun gold”, and “gold nugget” are ridiculously overused. I have a sun gold tomato, sun gold kiwis, now a sun gold lemon.
Gold nugget mandarin, gold nugget jackfruit, gold nugget loquat.
Ruby. Tango.
Gah

Has anyone been able to source the Sungold lemon? I read that it was developed in the San Diego area... But currently I only know of it available outside if CA. I've been wanting to find one for a few years. I like the yellow and green variegation of the leaves. Thanks for any possible leads!!

It was discovered by Milton Harjung & patented by his son. It is not available anywhere at the moment. Best bet is to find a source in CA. Walker-Vice Nursery was selling it years ago, but they are long gone. Glasshouse Works had it, but no longer do...

Did you have any luck sourcing this tree again? Would this be the same as a variegated Lisbon? A few years back you rooted some cuttings and I was able to obtain one from you. Still going strong. I've since grafted a multi-variety variegated tree containing variegated Eureka (variegated pink lemon) and the variegated Lisbon. It is still recovering from winter storage but I wouldn't mind sending you budwood once it re-established. I have them in pots and wintered in basement under grow lights so I do massive trimming in the fall.

Tree is currently flushing out for the summer so no nice pencil size budstick with dormant bud. I'll get them out to you once there are some good branch. The tree i got from you I've since given to my parent-in-law, still doing good but being hit heavily by scale and aphids. I hope you rebuild your variegated collection, you had a nice collection going before.
