In the past few days I noticed that I can no longer browse the forum without logging in. Is this a glitch or an intentional change? I really hope this is not a permanent thing

I have noticed same. It appears that as you said this is a recent thing. Usually you tag the "remember me" button and you do not have to log in each time you visit. Could it be that you must log in when you post?
