Nice looking tree! How is the fruit? I just got a grafted Christmas loquat a week or two ago. Ive never eaten a loquat before

Very sweet and firm. Makes the best jam. Put butter and this jam on a cat head biscuit and you might slap grandma if she reaches for it.

If you have pets be careful with the fruits. The seeds are poison.

Thanks Laaz. At the point in life where the dogs have passed on and we have made up our mind not to do it again. Miss them old dogs.

David, what is special about Christmas Loquat? Is it a cultivar that blooms not in autumn but in spring? I heard or read about this but never found a source for the plants (or even the rumours)

It blooms in spring when it is still cool but this cultivar still holds its pollination and fruit. Lots of loquat drop fruit or bloom when a little cool weather happens.

Your tree has a very interesting shape, unlike other loquats. I like the looser habitus.
In what month does it bloom?

Blooms in Feb. Early. Fruit ready in March. Late.
