This problem has been posted recently on Polish citrus group on Facebook. The leaves on this tree started to develop irregular yellowing pattern. The problem started about a month ago. The tree was purchased this spring, it was probably imported from southern Europe. The question is - could it be citrus greening disease?

That was my thought too when I read it in the group. It's a good idea to ask here, maybe someone knows more.

Flos, thanks for the reply. Good to know that not only I suspected citrus greening in this case.

I do not know HLB from my own experience. But what I notice is that the discoloration on this plant involves the leaf veins and the intervening tissue. In many other photo, the leaf veins are clearly separated from the rest of the tissue. either the veins are green and the surrounding tissue is yellow or vice versa. But this is just an observation on photos from the internet. also the discolorations on this plant are quite symetric on some leaves, this should not be the case with HLB either

Mikkel, thanks for investigating this case and for the link. That page contains a good set of photos illustrating citrus greening symptoms. My impression is that the mottling pattern can differ, maybe it depends on citrus species, but the common trait is that it's asymmetrical. So now the tree should be checked for other symptoms like corky veins, misshapen fruit or dieback. If there is no such symptoms, then this should mean it's not citrus greening.
