The appearance of the plant resembles a powerful unshiu, the leaves completely coincide in shape with the leaves of unshiu. Frost resistance is high, at least on the level of Satsuma or superior. At night frosts 20F no damage was observed. Branches thickened, strong, growth starts also in conjunction with Satsumas and like them. Flowering in mid-March in leaf axils and at the ends of branches single large flowers - in appearance closer to grapefruit In September, the size of the fruit is already very large - more than 200g The beginning of ripening the middle of October in November

At the end of February, the fruit is fully ripe. The sour-sweet taste, acidity level, reminiscent of the Duncan grapefruit, sweetness of closer to an orange. Fruit weight is about 500g. The flesh is dense, juicy, granular, thin film. The peel is rough, normalno cleared , reminds pomelo.

Гульрипшский (Gulripshsky) pomeloXsatsuma hybrid from Sukhumi Gulipshsky. Gulipshsky zoned in humid subtropics of Russia since 1970 Tree up to 5 m tall, with a rounded, sparse, densely leafy crown (Fig. 26). The leaves are large, dense, 10.0-17.5 x 6.7-8.9 cm, tangerine type. The flowers are medium in size, 34-38 mm in diameter. Fruits are round-flat, large, 7.1-8.5 x 9.1-12.0 cm, weight 335.8-620.5 g; the peel is thin, up to 5 mm thick, with a very smooth, shiny surface, golden yellow; the pulp is yellow, plentifully juicy, films gentle; seeds are missing or very few. A high-quality hybrid combining the attributes of both partners, in all respects, surpasses all the introduced varieties of pompelmus in the humid subtropics of the Caucasus.

At the time of optimum maturity, the taste is very good. Excellent balance of sugars and acids. The flesh is grainy in the type of pomelo, but at the same time tender and juicy as Satsuma. The fragrance is pleasant, a bit like the other orangelos
