Congratulations. I have tried growing a Bing cherry but couldn't get it to bloom. Weather here in GA is so different than CA.
Edit: Sorry, I didn't get a Bing, it was a Stella and it was self pollinating.

They need a pollenator.

Stella and Lapins are supposed to be self pollinating, and both are supposed to pollinate Royal Rainier. They all bloomed for the first time this year. The Royal Rainier has grown twice as fast as the others, with Lapins being the slowest. I may need to move it.

Was that all the fruit you got? I had two large trees years ago and that was about the extent of my crop. They died soon afterwards, from heat exhaustion.

I got about a dozen cherries, but it was the first year that any of my cherry trees bloomed. Luckily they all had a few blooms for pollination. They are young trees. Maybe next year. What variety did you have?

I don't remember what variety they were.. They became huge trees over time and I thought I would get plenty of cherries, but it never happened. As I said, they died from our heat and humidity... I guess.

Regular chaerries don't do well here in the humidity. Most northern plants don't. My wife loves Lilac's & they smell awesome when in bloom. She bought some & they had tiny blooms the first year & then died a quick death... We had them up in NY and you couldn't kill them, down here don't even bother.

Much the same here Lazz. Even the low chill stuff they have developed make small, not good quality fruit and fade away to that great fruit cemetary in the sky early. Even some colder climate flowers .......
