Has anyone tried the hot callus pipe on citrus grafts?
(I can't delete the attachment.)

Have not tried it. I am not set up for it and dont have the equipment. Perhaps this is a good procedure for commercial propagation but for the small grove owner and home growers it is probably not cost effective. Some procedures take all the fun of small grove owners.....old school growers like me. I do hope the procedure is expanded and made available to those that need it.

I thought this procedure might be useful for those of us in the northern climes. This might allow us, by heating the graft union, to graft during the winter.

You may be right Vlad. My location allows me to graft in the fall and early winter, let them grow and force any buds as temps warm. By using the heated method folks that are unable to graft in winter may get some help.

Rather than buying some special heating cable you could get a roll of light gauge wire and a bag of cheap (~penny each) resistors and connect a hundred grafts for less than ten bucks.
