Margaret Shelton is the renowned owner of Shelton’s Herb Farm. She has been the preeminent supplier of citrus for the Wilmington, NC area. Margaret is standing by a Bitter Orange Tree (Poncirus trifoliate tree) that was planted by her grandfather over 100 years ago. At the Citrus Expo the many expanded uses for this outstanding fruit will be explored. From Chinese Medicine to marmalade. ibb.co/3px9N3S

Sounds great! I’ve been wanting a good PT marmalade recipe and have been curious about how to process PT into remedy for cancer. I’ve read that Koreans use it for treatment of cancer but we need a recipe. That’s a lovely tree. Nice to know it’s lasted 100 years.

Roberto, I wish I could tell more about it. I just read on internet that Koreans use poncirus for its anti carcinogenic properties. However, I’ve not been able to find online how it is exactly processed and used or which type of cancer it is effective for. I want to know too. I know an herbalist that says bitter plants are effective as anti carcinogenics. Herbal remedies need more research and need to be more available and promoted to the public I believe. We must continue to search and research on our own.

I made poncirus marmalade this fall, and am bringing jars to sell at the citrus expo this week. It’s actually good.

Citradia, would you please reveal your recipe for us? I hate throwing away all those nice fruits every autumn.
