To use as rootstock for my lemons in the future. This is the first time I've grown these. What is the speed & cold tolerance of Volk?

I have volk seed in the ground now. Slow to germinate. Slow to grow. Not as slow as FD, not as fast as swingle. Not as cold tolerant as Meyer.....somewhere between sour orange and Carizzo....depending upon location. I am not happy with it at this point....I dont think its going to be real cold hardy......change my mind for me.....

My lemons all stay in containers so I'm not real worried about that. Thought I might put one in the ground out back & see how it does.

Trees on Volk generally have poor freeze tolerance. Fruit also have poor freeze tolerance.

Like I said, my lemons stay in containers so that doesn't bother me at all.
