I picked up a bag of Minions at Food World grocery store last week and they are the seedless kishu grown in Peru and marketed by Dayka and Hackett out of California. They are better than the cuties and halos but not up to par with a tree-ripened kishu. The Brix was only eleven, picked too early to be the outstanding fruit it is.

I think you will find all grocery store citrus was picked too early. It has to have time to go through the packing house & most are then waxed, if picked at peak they would be bad by the time they hit the market.

I have never gotten quality citrus at the stores. Its unusual to find kishu in the store here. Commercial grower/shipping does not abet the consumer. Nothing beats a good door yard mandrin picked and eaten at its peak. Fresh citrus, as is sea food is the best you can get.
